34% Syrah, 25% Cab Franc, 25% Merlot, 16% Malbec
Stunning - absolutely stunning! This wine is the 2020 vintage in a nutshell and it displays no weakness. The aromas are expressive and sooo appealing with blackberries, blue fruit, violets and blackcurrants. Bolero is full-bodied, opulent and rich, with creamy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. The Syrah brings classic blue fruit like blueberry and blue plum but also a meaty component on the mid-palate. The generous proportion of Malbec brings freshness and a floral component (violet and crunchy raspberry). The Merlot adds cassis and blackcurrant, while the Cab Franc highlights black forest cake and spices. That’s all to say: this wine is layered and blended to perfection. The never-ending finish also brings a sense of success and satisfaction. A wine that truly wows, made by one of my very favourite winemakers in Canada. 200 cases made.
