Medium ruby in colour with warm and inviting aromas of ripe dark cherry, red currant, blackberry, oregano, eucalyptus, tobacco, clove and baking spices. Medium-plus in body, the palate continues with cassis, pomegranate, plum, wild raspberry, black tea, leather, cedar, tobacco and a lovely seam of cocoa through the finish. Medium-plus acidity and chewy but ripe tannins. Shows class and restraint with the potential to age beneficially in bottle for the next 5-10 years and drink well for several years beyond that.
