A delightful, fruit forward red blend ready for any occasion, that will surprise with its versatility to pair with meals, from European to Middle Eastern to Asian. 59% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 13% Pinot Noir, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Syrah all from Black Bank Hill’s estate vineyard.
Brightly coloured ruby-red with a purple undertone. Raspberry, red current, cherry, red licorice, dried herbs and a lightly spicy finish of black pepper. Medium bodied with juicy acidity and lightly crunchy tannins. Bottled in the spring of 2023 but has already begun to evolve in bottle, developing weight and a savoury earthiness.
The fruit was hand-picked during the last week of October 2021, with a wild fermentation to 2.1 g/L residual sugar and 12.6% abv. 17-months élevage in neutral French oak. Blended in the spring of 2023 and bottled May 3, 2023 with a light filtration. 184 cases made.
