Willms Vignes 1983 comes off a historical site inside the Four Mile Creek appellation not far from the original downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake. Bachelder speaks to its waxy, minty green that offset the tangerine and lemon that line the sidewalls of this wine. Deep roots and somewhat sandy soils are said to contribute what may be its best aspect, a distinct minerality that bespeckles a warm, round, almost buttery finish. Stylish, yeasty, food friendly, I love this wine with roasted chicken.
