Located in the small sub-appellation of Beamsville Bench, which rises gently below the Niagara Escarpment, Peninsula Ridge's 16ha home vineyard is named after owner Norm Beal. Recent plantings of a 1.5ha plot have produced the estate's first single-vineyard Riesling. Broad and floral to start, it then hones in on lime leaf, grapefruit and apple. Dry, pert and edgy with just-ripe fruit and an energetic charge.
