2018 Cabernet Sauvignon:

Niagara Peninsula VQA.

A refined and substantial but easygoing début red from Black Bank Hill. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon from Lakeview Vineyard, Twenty Mile Bench, blended with 15% Cabernet Franc from the nearby Creek Shores sub-appellation. This lighter bodied Cab has been called ‘the BBQ wine of the summer.' There is a lovely red-fruit profile that opens to darker cherries and leather as it evolves in the glass.

2019 Cabernet Franc:

Foxcroft Vineyard, Twenty Mile Bench VQA.

This is textbook Niagara Cabernet Franc from a revered 'grand cru' Niagara vineyard. This wine also points toward where this varietal is heading in our region.  Displaying the freshness of the vintage and just a seam of its varietal herbaceousness, there is a depth here that arises when paired with red meats. Good now, this wine will become exceptionally graceful after 5+ years in the cellar.

2019 Syrah:

Parke Vineyard, Twenty Mile Bench VQA.

Niagara Syrah you ask? Well, absolutely, yes! Normally associated with warmer climes like Australia or California, where it is known as Shiraz, this is a sleeper pick for the future great varietal in Ontario.  Niagara has proven itself capable of refining traditionally jammy-juicy big red varietals into extremely elegant, lean wines that are quickly gaining global repute. Here, this is fully ripened Syrah with a solid tannic structure, a medium body of dark fruit flavours, and notes of black and white pepper that reveal its cool climate breeding.
